My finished dewstag creature design for Beyond Skyrim's Morrowind team! The dewstag hops from tree-to-tree looking for food and water. It is insectoid, but roughly the size of a deer, and its "venison" is said to be legendarily good!
The original version had to be altered anatomically to fit to the pre-existing ash hopper model and skeleton because apparently Skryim's engine is about the worst thing ever to try building new skeletons in. To make the 3D team's job easier, I did the original orthographic sketches right over the ash hopper models and skeletons, so that when the finals were done, they would be anatomically distinct, but match the skeleton as closely as possible!
